What Is An Implant?
You may hear individuals refer to a dental implant as a complete tooth replacement, restoring both your roots and the visible portion of your tooth. While it’s true that choosing an implant allows you to restore your entire tooth, the implant is only the root replacement composed of a titanium post. The post will then support a dental crown or other prosthetic, which will replace the part of your tooth or teeth that rest above your gumline.
About The Process
To begin, we will place a dental implant into your jawbone and gum tissue through a surgical procedure. You will then recover for a period of approximately three to four months, while the dental implant post fuses to your jawbone during a process called osseointegration. Once complete, the implant will be ready for us to top or “restore” with the prosthetic of your choice. The result? A stable, fully replaced tooth and a complete smile offering comfort and function.
