Administering STA
This is a computerized delivery system, one that allows our team a greater level of accuracy and precision when administering. A computer will regulate the process and a pressure force feedback system lets us manage delivery levels in real time. We can also avoid the damage to gum tissues that could occur with a needle-based system.
Benefits for Our Patients
This offers a number of benefits for our patients. As we mentioned above, this prevents damage to gum tissues when we administer the numbing agent. We can easily adjust levels during treatment as needed too. The results are long-lasting too, and limits how long you need to stay in the chair. We also encounter patients who have a fear of needles, and this option allows us to keep them calm and comfortable without ensuring needles and higher anxiety levels.
When the Procedure is Necessary
We could administer this for a number of different procedures, from dental filling and crown placement, to scaling and root planing or periodontal treatments. We can also numb the smile as we pare the smile for receiving a dental prosthetic. Essentially, any procedure that could cause discomfort, we can use this to keep you comfortable and relaxed during the entire procedure.
Dental Sedation
If you have high levels of anxiety, or if you’re undergoing a more extensive oral surgery, such as tooth extraction, implant placement, grafting or sinus lifts, or other oral surgeries, we can also provide sedation in addition to STA. Sedation helps you enter a calm state with little to no memory of the procedure. This is socially helpful for this with fears of the dentist and high anxiety levels. We want you and your family to always feel comfortable and relaxed, and we don’t want fears of needles or dental care to stand between you and the healthy, beautiful smile you deserve.
If you have any questions about local anesthesia or dental sedation, or about any of our comprehensive dental procedures, then contact our team to learn more. We want to help people of all ages in our community enjoy their best possible smile.
